How speed is measured
Korean typing speed is traditionally measured in keystrokes per minute. Each Hangul syllable is broken into the keys you press on the standard 2-set (Dubeolsik) layout: 한 is three keys (ㅎ ㅏ ㄴ). Double consonants such as ㄲ use Shift plus one key and count as one keystroke, while compound final consonants such as ㄺ count as two. Only correctly typed words and the spaces after them count toward net speed.
